Milo and Otis Movie Night || Jasmine E. Photography || New York Lifestyle Wedding Photographer

Aloysius and I love movie night. We’ll stop everything to be able to spend a couple hours of quality time together, especially during the week. Phones and computers, OFF.  No work, no interruptions, no distractions, just us.  One thing we love doing is watching movies from our childhood. I dunno about you but, we love movies from the 80’s and 90’s. They just had it right back then. They’re usually light, fun, and bring back feelings of childhood nostalgia that make us feel good inside. So this week we snuggled up to watch The Adventures of Milo and Otis!

What a breath of fresh air. I think the movie was better this time around than back when I was 9 years old. We never laughed so hard at a cat and dog in our lives.  If cats and dogs COULD talk, I imagine it would very much be like this. How did they get these pets to Act so well?? No silly over exaggerated animation or special effects. Just a whole lot of fuzzy-wuzzy friendliness! Very much worth the $6.99 at CVS. 🙂

Side note:  I had a cat named Milo. I named her after Milo in the movie. She was a gorgeous cat … Dark gray with green eyes. She ran away one day.  Sad, sad day. I always thought she would return with a new doggie like Milo and Otis did in the movie — nope, didn’t happen. I’ll always remember my old girl Milo, but now I have Jenny!

Oh well! If you haven’t watched it yet, and you love animals or you’re just cheesy like us, snatch it up and enjoy!

New Stuff and Pinterest Love || Jasmine E. Photography || NYC Wedding Photographer

Happy February!! I kinda can’t believe its already February. And even more so, I can’t believe this weather over the last few days. It’s too good to be true! Are we DONE with winter? Not too sure at this point because ANYTHING can happen. New York seems to be one of the few states in the Northeast that can experience all Four Seasons in one week. lol

Well, if you’re visiting, you’re probably seeing a few new changes around here. I was growing quite bored of the old look. And although its not Spring just yet, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of early Spring Cleaning! The new layout is super clean and pretty sleek.  And what I love is that you now have DIRECT ACCESS to all my wedding and photography inspiration on PINTEREST! Everything from gorgeous Wedding Details and Venues to ideas on what to wear to your Engagement Session and all the little things in between. And my boards keep growing everyday … Like Pinning is my JOB!

If you haven’t checked out PINTEREST yet, then its time for you to jump on the bandwagon.  I’m pretty jealous I didn’t use this to my advantage last year when planning my Rainbow Wedding. Well, my wedding was 5 months ago and I have a board dedicated fully to Rainbow Wedding Inspiration after the fact! I don’t care … this is too cool! If you’re planning a wedding and need a little bit, or a whole lot of free…. yes FREE inspiration, I promise you will enjoy all that is awesomeness over there! Happy Pinning!

Shoe Obsessed Weekend || New York Wedding Photographer

I’ll just hop right in here and say it ….

I purchased shoes this weekend and I feel GUILTY about it.

I just HAD to have them … TWO PAIRS of the same shoe from Tar-SHAY (that’s Target in real life).

I know you’re thinking “so what?”, “big deal, you bought shoes from Target”…

All women do it, right? I guess to some extent. Here’s the thing though … I hate heels – so this is practically a waste of money because I never wear them. I never think about spending big bucks on them, and I NEVER long for a shoe the way I have for these. Don’t get me wrong, I totally believe shoes are stylish, sexy, and make a major statement. I LOVE looking at them and basking in their fierceness. And… shoes look AMAZING in photographs!! If I could have a museum of heels I would …. BUT ….I despise wearing them. The pain, the pressure on your toes, the blisters, and bloody toe knuckles (yes, my feet bleed). When my feet hurt, my LIFE hurts. I believe that high heels shoes are torture devices created by men to make us believe they make us more attractive — longer legs, slimmer thighs, sexy calves, yadda, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah. I love looking at them but I won’t wear them, yet alone buy a pair I know I won’t wear.

Nuh-uh – NOPE! Flats all the way! I’m the girl who swears by Uggs, in the Winter, Havaianas in the Summer. And any other time in between I’m wearing just socks.

I know that’s ironic coming from a (plus size) model, right? We have to wear shoes as our job, right?  Walk hard and strut. I dread fashion shows for this very reason!! High and painful heels, slipper runway’s and EVERYONE STARING AT YOU! One little wobble and everyone know’s you stumbled. How mortifying and uncomfortable!! I once had to shoot a national campaign for 8 hours on set, in stilettos that were two sizes too small for my feet! The stylist had to use Vaseline to desperately slide my foot into the shoes and I had to look nothing less than “happy” wearing the final product.  Oh the agony.  I once had runway rehearsal for 3 hours in heels that rubbed the skin right off 3 toes.  I get paid for this, right?

I can say that I’m scarred for life.  I’m NEVER going to wear these 7 incher’s in real life (or the presence of my husband because thankfully, we’re the same height), so I never feel pressure to wear heels unless I have a booking of some sort.

And  this is why I feel guilty …. Spending money impulsively. I know better …

Soooooo … why did I buy these heels? Cause they’re simple but FREAKIN’ fierce!!!

Props to Target for making a stylish, affordable, COMFORTABLE platform! If they had the other 3 colors in stock (pink, purple, & leopard) in size 10, I admit I would have purchased them ALL.
