Stuff I Love: Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid available at Sephora – Portrait Couture & Glamour, NYC

Here’s another goody I’ve been using for the last several weeks. I thought it would be a good idea to hold off on sharing until I was sure I really loved it and I do.

Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid 10% Hydrating Gel available at Sephora.

If you don’t already know, glycolic acid is a multipurpose miracle for the skin. It serves as a  powerful exfoliant, acne fighter, pore minimizer, wrinkle reducer and improves any discoloration on the skin all in one.

The long term benefits of glycolic acid are best noticed after several weeks of continued use. The way it works is, this gel is basically a daily mini facial peel. The acids work little by little to get rid of old dead skin cells. It also has moisturizing properties like aloe vera and vitamin E, so this product can also replace your daily moisturizer.

I will warn you that if you’ve never tried any glycolic acid products before, you will probably experience a spicy tingly feeling on your skin.  It’s something to get used to but after a week or 2 of repeaded use,  you don’t feel it at all. I definitely think this product is something to try. I have combinations skin, but have been able to eliminate my moisturizer. My complexion is more even, and even the severity of my breakouts has decreased considerably. I no longer need to use  Proactive. So go to Sephora, and pick up a bottle. If you hate it, you can return it. Go ahead and give it a try.

To the Brides and Grooms dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy – New York City Wedding Photographer

A note to the Hurricane Sandy Brides and Grooms

Today my thoughts are with the couples in the tri-state area struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the wedding plans taking place this weekend. This entire week has been a mess. So much damage, death and destruction. Un-lucky families have lost EVERYTHING, and my heart goes out to everyone dealing with the horrible damage of Hurricane Sandy.

Remember that your union is about your MARRIAGE and not so much about the Wedding. Stay calm, know that you’re loved by the person you want so badly to marry, family and friends will support you all the way and everything will work out the best way it can.

I know this isn’t an easy time for anyone, but please remember to stay positive and focus on the many years of love and growth you will experience together. This too shall pass. Good Luck! –

Stuff I love – Sephora’s Cream Lipstain – Portrait Courture & Glamour, NYC

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain - New York City Glamour Photographer - Jasmine E Photography

This is Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain  #01 Always Red – Matte in Bold Classic Red.

Not a new product whatsoever, but this is something I’ve been loving for the last few weeks. For me, being in Sephora is like feeling like a kid in a candy store – amazing and dangerous.  So many tempting, sparkly, pretty beauty products to test and try. I almost never leave without buying something. Bad habit, I know.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!   It’s matte, its semi-permanate (really hard to take off even after having eaten dinner with it on – super long lasting) and its bold.

Nothing screams confidence more than the perfect shade of red and a woman that knows what to do with it. This red lipstain is truly a versatile color – whether you wear it during a day at the office,  out for drinks with the girls, or with that fancy black dress for a dinner date with that special someone – you can’t go wrong.

And if you really feel that red just isn’t your color, try out any one of their other shades from their full collection.

Enjoy, feel Beautiful and stay Fabulous.

NYC Engagement Session – Jessica and Hensley – Dream Downtown Hotel

If ever there were a mirror image of my husband and I, it would certainly be Jessica and Hensley. The day we sat down to meet the lucky couple, it was hard to ignore the feeling of reconnecting with old friends. My usual 60 minute consultation ended up turning into a 5 hour double date.

Here’s why I love this couple …

Hensley proposed to Jessica one evening during a dinner party in front of family and friends. But this wasn’t your average proposal and it most certainly wasn’t your average dinner party. Hensley, masterfully organized a “Chopped” (*gasp*  😮  MY FAVORITE Food Network Show) themed dinner party where he secretly plotted to pop to the big question. A full cook off, a secret ingredient and a camera crew in tow. The family had been in on the scheme all along, but Jessica had no clue about how her life would change that night. After the final tasting and judgement, Hensley had a very important question for his future wife. Everyone wins! The best part is they’ll always have footage of this very special spectacle to remember for ever.

I was and still am thoroughly impressed with their elaborate surprise engagement story. This is a couple that truly cares about making lasting memories. And their ideas for their engagement session were no different. Jessica and Hensley have a story. They most certainly have style. And they wanted their official images to reflect who they are and will be as a couple today and forever.
