Stuff I Love – Panoxyl Face Wash

As I’m sure you already know. I think beauty and skin care is very important to the confidence and well being of a woman. So when I find something that works and is worth it, I want to share it with the world. My new favorite pimple fighting face was is PanOxl 10% Acne Foaming Wash.

I really, really, really LOVE THIS STUFF!

I’ve struggled with my skin for years and years, acne breakouts, discoloration, and as someone with combination skin I have also suffered with dryness and moisturizer. About 4 years ago, I decide the solution to my skin problem was to start using ProActive. It was going to be an expensive long term decision, but I was committed to trying it out and within a few weeks I decided it was a great product; practically the answer to my prayers. My skin cleared up, my complexion smoothed out, and my breakouts diminished significantly. It worked as the famous infomercials said it would. But  after several years of committed use and lots of dollars later, I found the product was less and less effective. The company had put out two new formulas in the last 3 years, but I noticed the changes weren’t making my skin any better.   Was I becoming resistant to the ingredients? Who knows? But it was time for me to find something else.

During my search I tried just about every product under the sun, and nothing quite worked effectively or consistently. The active ingredient in proactive is Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%) and to my dismay there aren’t  many products on the market that use Benzoyl Peroxide. The most common active ingredient in face wash tends to be Sylic Acid, and although its a popular product its not for me. So, I suffered a few months until I found PanOxyl. The best thing about this face wash is their acne fighting formula contains 10% of the same active ingredient as Proactive at a mere fraction of the price. Better yet its very effective. The lather is rich and creamy, no medicine-y or overly fragrant scents, it leaves my skin feeling nice and clean without over stripping it’s natural moisture, and the BEST part?  No more three-step process. I simply use the fash wash 1-2x’s daily and follow up with my new found moisturizer, then I can start my makeup application as usual. I don’t even need a topical pimple cream anymore! My skin is under control and I couldn’t be happier.

Stuff I Love – Bobbi Brown’s Foundation Stick – New York City Glamour Photographer

Since I’ve been sharing several of my favorite beauty products over the last several weeks I thought I would keep sharing.  I’m an avid makeup wear. I never leave the house the house without a fresh face at minimum – mascara, concealed blemishes and a lip. All the time. There is of course at least one exception – Never at the gym! And I always carry a full kit for touch-ups … from chap stick to eye shadow. Because you never know who you’re going to meet or when your picture needs to be taken, so always be prepared.

I wanted to share with you my favorite foundation, Bobbi Brown’s Foundation Stick. Available in 27 shades!

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick - New York City Glamour Photographer

I LOVE THIS STUFF!

Here’s a description directly from the site:

“Bobbi’s innovative Foundation Stick is designed for portability and adjustable coverage. Easy to apply and blend all over the face or just where you need it. For all skin types, except very oily.”

In my honest opinion Bobbi Brown has the best range of natural everyday colors for women of all complexions – She’s definitely doing something right! Her company’s Foundation Stick has to be the best multi-purpose foundation on Earth. This product doubles, NO! Triples as a concealer for light coverage (ex. Your Saturday morning trip to the super market) and is easily adjustable from medium to full high definition coverage if needed (ex. Every day office wear, or a night out with the girls). It’s also very special in that it looks more natural as the day goes on. It seems to “set” and blend into skin (not pore clogging) giving you a really natural finish even 8 hours later. If you own this stick, there is absolutely no need to purchase any other concealer or foundation as long as you live.

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics are available at select Macy’s, Nordstorms, Lord & Taylors, Bloogmingdales and Sephoras. You can also purchase directly from the Bobbi Brown website. I highly suggest going to your local cosmetic’s counter and finding your perfect match!

Enjoy!

MAC Cosmetics “Strength” Campaign – New York City Glamour Photographer – NYC Portrait Couture

MAC Cosmetics "Strength" Campaign - NYC GLAMOUR

“Strength” – Courtesy of MAC Cosmetics

MAC Cosmetics has once again tickled me silly. This company is all about pushing boundaries, being bold, being daring and making statements … fierce ones. I love them dearly for it. They continue to push the envelope and keep it exciting. They’re latest campaign is BRILLIANT!  Jelena Abbou is a 35 year old competitive body builder from New Jersey. She’s currently the face of the most recent Campaign for MAC’s newest Collection, which they’ve so cleverly titled “Strength”.

“Flex your Femininity with a color collection that’s fearless, elegant and strong” …. WHAT??

Don’t mind if I DO!

This Collection features several bold lip sticks with names like “Strong Woman” and “Absolute Power”, muted blush, nude nail polish and two smokey eye shadow quartets, one called “Inner Strength”. It sounds like they’ve provided everything you need to be the perfect knockout …. literally.

Mixing Muscle with Fashion?? Genius!

Just as there are all types of beauty in the world, there are all types of curves.  We’ve seen the sad curves of the elite high fashion model, the unfair curves of the impossibly attainable Victoria’s Secret model, the pleasantly relatable curves of a plus size model – all representing the standard of “beauty” at one time or another …. and now … Jelena’s, errm, “flexed” curves are enough to make any woman want to stick to their New Years Resolutions, right!?

Merry Christmas – Jasmine E Photography

Merry Christmas!! Another holiday season is here and I hope you’re Christmas is off to a great start. I got to cook my first Pernil (Puerto Rican Style Pork Shoulder) and a Lazanga which I shared with my family last night for our Christmas Eve dinner. Not to brag about my cooking or anything but I have to say everything tasted pretty darn PERFECT!!!  So perfect in fact, I may be brave enough to try my hand at Pasteles (A traditional Puerto Rican Christmas dish) next year. I’ll have to get my grandma’s recipe though, and pray I have inherited her “Puertorriqueña Iron Chef Hat”. Hmmm, we’ll see.

Well, just like last year. Aloysius, JENNY and I wish you, your family, friends and all your loved ones a blessed and wonderful Merry Christmas!! I hope Santa brings you something awesome!!:)

Makeup… Makeover… Beautiful – Portrait Couture & Glamour in NYC

I love that being a photographer gives me the freedom to creatively impact individual lives in a personal way. Weddings allow me to document the first major milestone taking place in two people’s lives and while I’m always wildly excited to create those monumental life memories,  nothing makes me feel more inspired than when I’m one on one in the Studio . A makeover, how I see YOU through MY eyes.  I love providing the full “photo-shoot” experience – I’ve had my hair and makeup done for photos dozens of times over, and its one of the worlds best kept little secrets. Something every woman should experience at least ONCE in her life.  Makeup, hair, eyelashes, rollers, primping and pampering, a bit of styling on set and then I coach you and move you and coach you again through each pose and expression until we get it just right.

Ardys is a beautiful (smokin’ hot actually) mother of two who wanted something special for her husband this Christmas. She wanted to look like herself, but she wanted to joosh it up a bit, to step out her comfort zone, to experience something she’s never tried before, to make her husband proud and to have something she could be proud of too.  Something a little bit boudoir, a little bit glamour and a whole lot of beautiful.

Jacqueline Klein - Need a portrait photo suitable for a birthday gift for my mother. So nothing sexy. I need to know what services you provide. Should i do my own hair for example? I see from your website you do do the makeup. What about accessories such as earrings? If you do provide that, I may bring my own anyway in case I don’t like what you offer. wardrobe? do you offer outfits for the shot or am I on my own with that?
I need a price quote and a time frame before I can book an appointment. I also need your address. Prices per print based on size. if it is possible to buy a digital copy of the photos, retuouched and unretouched. That is all I can think to ask right now.
Thank you,
Jacqueline Klein
