Finally! I’m BACK!!
So the bloggity is a little bit newer. There are lots more advance features available now, so I’m hoping it makes your viewing experience a lot more enjoyable. Quite honestly, it took a few weeks of cursing, fist slamming and head banging to get things to look the way I want them to (kinda) but its all a work in progress. So forgive me in advance, but things will continue to be tweaked over the next few weeks until I get it just right.
Now, just to share a brief update – I’ve been whirlwind busy these last few weeks – workin’ the new blog of course, but also photography wise, and wedding planning wise! Friday May 6th was a super exciting day for me because I got to second shoot a wedding with Katie Jane Goulah at The Ravel Hotel in Long Island City, Queens. The thing that’s super special about Katie Jane is, she’s the photographer who will be shooting MY wedding this fall! More on that in a future post. I’ve really been feeling the “wedding crunch” these last few weeks. With less than 140 days to go till the big day, the pressure is ON! Aloysius and I made a serious effort to put more focus into the wedding details this weekend which we started by visiting Bed Bath and Beyond in Westbury to work on our bridal registry. Our enthusiasm quickly fizzled after scanning the 44th item and was replaced with anxiety — No one warned us that this process is entirely overwhelming! I was happy about adding an Air Purifier to our registry – that seems useful and economical. Aloysius was at the very least excited that I allowed him to add a Deep Fryer to our registry – after all there IS a slight chance someone will think its the perfect gift and wrap it up for us! I asked him what he thought about adding a Panini-Press to the list and his answer? “You want to know what I’d do with a Panini Press? Make grilled Cheese!” He’s right … I don’t know whats so great about a “Fancy Grilled-Cheese-Sandwich Maker”. We gave up after about 3 hours and decided to get our list printed – “Only 45 items?!?” the bridal attendant said in that disapproving tone. “You need to scan at least 2 items per guest so they have options!”. Great, now we need to block another 4 hours on a Saturday and scan at least 150 more items that we don’t really need or want, but just HAVE TO scan or we haven’t “done it right”. “And every newly wed couple needs Silverware and Fine China!” she bellowed. Excuse me ma’am? I’m going to need $500 worth of dishes or my marriage won’t last??
We walked out slowly with our heads hung low and decided that burritos from Chipotle would make us feel better. There’s always next weekend, right?
Here’s a shot I took on Friday May 5th at the wedding I worked on with Katie Jane. I hope to be able to share my favorite 15 shots from this wedding over the next few days – its SO hard to choose just 15! For now, I hope you like this one!
