Personal: Peanut Butter Pretzels a Cracked Tooth and Steve Martin Terror

This wasn’t how I expected to return to the blog-o-sphere, but I figured yesterday night … why not!?

Yesterday, as I’m sitting at my desk checking on my facebook people, I decide to snack on these epic peanut butter filled pretzels. Nom, nom nom! I heart peanut butter but never get to indulge anymore because my husband’s allergic. Anyway, two pretzels into this crunchy, salty, sweet snack I hear a crunch, crrrrrrunchhhh, CRACK! Followed by a zing of pain. MY TOOTH. Of course the panic sets in as I hustle to the nearest mirror to scope out the damage. Yup, fully cracked down the middle kind of swaying there as if my tooth is a door on a hinge. No blood thankfully, not yet anyway but there was a dull achy pain. PERFECT!! ::insert sarcasm here::  Luckily I was able to see a dentist same day, two hours later but here’s the thing …. I HATE THE DENTIST.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my teeth and take care of them the best way I know how. I’ve never had braces, brush twice a day and I religiously whiten with Crest White Strips every year to keep them nice and blingy. What I don’t like is strangers picking at my teeth with sharp buzzing objects or the mini vacuum hose that hangs ferociously from the lip.  I find it quite annoying when the dentist ask weird questions and expect answers ….  like they can understand anything I’m saying with my mouth wide open, utensils hanging from my face and about 8 fingers in my mouth. Admittedly, the last time I went to the dentist was 4 years ago and then again 7 years before that. I would have to say it was 2001 when my hate relationship with the dentist began.  Just before heading to college my dentist told me I had impacted molars and would have to get them extracted. Pshhh! Yeah right Doctor … See Ya! Wouldn’t wanna be ya! I had already put myself through a dreaded root canal, and wasn’t about to go through an even worse experience than that.  Dentist are dangerous people …

So, as I’m sitting at my new dentist waiting for him to poke my gums and tortue me with his freaky tools, images of Steve Martin flood my brain. Why Steve Martin you ask??

Camille - I totally hate when those dentists ask those questions and have you blah blah gurgle gurgle. I just decided a few years agao I WONT answer them. They can stand there digging and talking to themselves..

Feel better

31 Days || NYC Wedding Photographer

Exactly one month till our wedding day … I can’t believe how fast this year is going!

A little update on stuff – the DRESS fit! Working out 4 days a week has paid off, but I have to remind myself daily that cookies and diets don’t mix! 🙂

I’ve also decided to enlist in the help of a wedding coordinator (JunePlumm Events) to help me as I get closer to our wedding date. Aloysius has always said I have a tendency to worry. His nickname for me? “Worrywart“.  Is the coordinator an extra expense that has put me over my budget limit? Yes (but I have to admit, we went over that limit weeks ago).  Am I happy with my decision to hire professional help? 100%, Entirely, YES!  Two meetings in and I’m already more at ease! See, here’s the thing … I’ve planned pretty much all of this Rainbow Wedding on my own. Its been hard, stressful work. And I realized that when our day comes, I don’t want to be the one holding a clip board delivering bridezilla instructions. Nope. On our day, I want to sit back, relax, wine, dine, dance, mingle with family and stare lovingly into the eyes of my new husband. I want to enjoy each and every moment; not wonder 10 years from now why my memories seem vague. You only get married once!

31 DAYS TO GO!!!

Your Ultimate Guide to Wedding Photography – BRIDES Magazine August 2011

Your Ultimate Guide to Wedding Photography

So, as a bride planning my own wedding I still turn to current bridal magazines for inspiration, ideas and support. This month I picked up the August issue of Brides Magazine, which by the way, I thought was the bomb … and low and behold I found this awesome article: “Your Ultimate Guide to Photography”.  As a photographer its refreshing to see something like this available to girls and women everywhere struggling with their choice of wedding photographer. Remember ladies, the photography (and videography) is the MAIN way you’ll be able to remember and re-live the day years after its over. Like with everything else in the wedding planning process, there should be some serious thought to the type of photography you’re looking for and the type of person you want with you on the day to make it happen. The writer brings up some great points for any bride getting married to check out.  I’m glad I could share right here with you!
